It’s finally here. DNA SUPER* marks a kind of turning point for Future Ape Tapes. Our third album in just over a year, the record signals the return of F.A.T. to its roots: recording. After a dizzying slew of live improvised performances and a few shows, we present a record for the people.

The beats on DNA SUPER* were created by three different producers: Chosun (SOV), The Board of Directors, and Das Kapital. Please visit their personal home pages via the image links on the right side of our website. All of the vocals on DNA SUPER* were engineered by The Architect. Art of Darkness picks up right where Fuck The Future left off. This time Future Ape Tapes have transformed into the Wolf Pak, a dangerous blend of personalities who share F.A.T.’s goal of rescuing planet Earth, but differ on exactly how this needs to be accomplished.

Art of Darkness also brought on the addition of two new emcees (Elan Vitale and Blastfamous), as well as resident DJ Jaxsone. Produced organically by The Architect and Future Ape Tapes, most of the beats on the album were created using loops of live improvised studio jams, overlain with sequenced drum tracks. This is where it all began. In the Summer of 2007 four friends got together to produce music strictly for the moment. The outcome of this experiment was our first album, Fuck The Future.

Featuring emcees Bagdaddy, Sir Hamlet, Peter Burns, and The Architect (with his now deceased alter ego The White Night in tow), F.A.T. got a lucky break when Double Phantom Records entered the picture. Thanks to the generosity of the label, Future Ape Tapes saw a limited edition run of 300 copies pressed on cd. Copies are still available at local independent record shops in Athens, GA.
